Manta Resort Bargara

95-97 Esplanade, Bargara QLD 4670 Australia

Location

Bargara is a delightful town located along Australia’s eastern coast near the Burnett River’s mouth. Once known as Sandhills for the instability of the sandy soil, the town’s current name was coined in 1913 as a portmanteau of ‘Barolin’ and ‘Woongarra’. Bargara is home to rare geological features, strikingly contrasted landscapes and an access point to the world famous Southern Great Barrier Reef.

Chief among Bargara’s charms is an enviable climate that many find to be reminiscent of Hawaii’s. It’s easy to enjoy that fabulous sunny weather by visiting the long stretches of gorgeous coastline, beautiful family-friendly parks and other outdoor facilities. These all make Bargara a popular destination for visitors from Bundaberg just 13km away as well as other nearby regional hubs. Bargara has much more to offer than sun, sea and sand, however.

From November to March every year, nature lovers can witness the miracle of life taking place at one of Australia’s largest hatcheries right here in Mon Repos. You can travel along the low difficulty, wheelchair accessible Turtle Trail exploring nature along the way. At the Mon Repos Conservation Park you and your family can watch the mother turtles lay their eggs or see the hatchlings waddle to the shore in their season.

You won’t run out of ways to enjoy your stay!
